Paratransit Assistance is designed to give individuals towing and paratransit coverage for themselves and their family members. Covering up to 3 vehicles, Paratransit Assistance ensures that for the mobility challenged and their families, all aspects of traveling are covered, including the vehicle, lift and ramp, and the wheelchair or scooter.

Paratransit Assistance provides assurance that there is no obstacles to prevent you from getting where you need to be.

Services to Provide Peace of Mind

PARATRANSIT ASSISTANCE INCLUDES:

 

PARATRANSIT ASSISTANCE

Transportation may be provided to the occupants of a disabled vehicle. Maximum transportation benefit includes 25-mile distance without charge.

TOWING SERVICE

When your vehicle is disabled due to mechanical breakdown, we will tow it to the nearest service facility of your choice up to up to 100 miles of service. Additional expense will be your responsibility to pay to the towing provider.

WHEELCHAIR ASSISTANCE

If you are away from home and your mobility device stops working, we will coordinate and dispatch a qualified technician to assist with a solution. Parts and labor are the responsibility of the member. Up to 1 hour of technical service will be provided to you at no charge. Travel time is included as part of the 1-hour benefit allotment.

LIFT ASSISTANCE

If the lift gate on your vehicle becomes stuck, we will dispatch and coordinate technical assistance to your location. We may also arrange phone consultation regarding a lift malfunction with a qualified technician. Up to 1 hour of technical service will be provided to you at no charge. Travel time is included as part of the 1-hour benefit allotment.

FLAT TIRE ASSISTANCE

A flat tire will be changed with your spare tire. If, for any reason, the spare is not usable, the lug nuts cannot be removed or the vehicle has two flat tires with one usable spare, towing will be provided in accordance with the towing provisions.

GAS AND FLUIDS DELIVERY

An emergency supply of fuel of up to three (3) gallons will be delivered if your covered vehicle runs out of fuel. You will be responsible for the cost of fuel.

LOCKOUT SERVICE

If your keys are locked in the vehicle, assistance will be provided to gain entry into the vehicle. In the event the keys are lost and a replacement key is required, you will be responsible for the total cost of lockout service and new key.

JUMP START

Jump start service will be provided to start your vehicle.

WINCHING/EXTRACTION

If your vehicle is stuck in a ditch, mud or snow, but it is accessible from a normally traveled roadway, service will be given to either tow or winch the vehicle. Dispatch coverage for winching is limited to 30 minutes; any expense incurred beyond 30 minutes will be your responsibility to pay to the service provider.

TIRE REPAIR & REPLACEMENT

When your registered vehicle experiences a flat tire due to a covered road hazard, we will reimburse you for the permanent patch/plug and labor to perform the tire repair at a licensed repair facility up to $25. If not repairable, we will reimburse you up to $150.00 to replace the tire at a participating dealer or licensed repair facility.

I had an experience with 2 flat tires at the same time. I had a spare for one but not the other. I called Mobility Roadside Assistance, that I had purchased a contract from in March of 2014, never expecting I’d have to use the service. I explained my dilemma to the operator at Mobility Roadside and he asked me if I was alright and if I needed any other help than my tires fixed. I explained I was in my wheelchair and had my wife and son with me. The company called a paratransit company and they picked us up at the same time the tow truck took our vehicle to a tire shop within 10 miles of where we were. The van dropped us off at the tire store and everything was paid for by Mobility Roadside. We were back on the road within 2 hours all toll, happy that we had decided to purchase the roadside contract.

While in Ohio area we had two occasions to use Mobility Roadside. One was for a mechanical issue with our starter.

A tow truck was dispatched by Mobility Roadside to tow our unit to the nearest repair facility and a van to pick us up since one of our passengers uses a wheelchair. The tow truck and the van got there within 15 minutes of each other, the work was completed and we got back on the road, in a couple of hours.

Once we picked up our uncle in Indiana, and were driving back home to Seattle, we then had a suspension problem with our van. Again we called Mobility Roadside and they dispatched a tow truck and a paratransit van to take us to a local dealership for repairs. They got us back on the road again within 4 hours and had no more problems traveling across states on our way home.

I could not have been more pleased with the service I got from Mobility Roadside Service. They directed a tow unit to our location in North Idaho, when we ran out of fuel. I felt foolish having to call for such a thing, but I did remember I had a Roadside contract. The tow truck brought me $10.00 worth of fuel and then helped me get my van started which took considerable time for some reason. I paid the tow truck driver for the fuel with a $20 and told him to keep the change and have a beer on me. All of this happened with in a little over an hours’ time. I’m one grateful disabled person and glad I purchased this plan with my new van when it was offered to me. I had such a good peace of mind.
